REACH (= Registration, Evaluation and Authorisation of Chemical Substances)

The REACH regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 is the European regulation of chemicals and stands for the registration, evaluation and authorisation of chemical substances. It has been in force in the European Union since 2007. Its scope includes all substances and chemical mixtures as a separate unit or in selected products. With the help of the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) the REACH regulation is implemented and monitored. The following aims are set in the first article of the regulation:

  • The guarantee of a high level of protection for human health and the environment
  • The guarantee of the free circulation of substances in the domestic market
  • The improvement of competitiveness and innovation

ECHA Candidate List: Obligation to Inform about Substances of Very High Concern according to Article 33 of the REACH Regulation

The obligation to inform applies to so-called substances of very high concern (SVHC). Information about used SVHC and the products' safe use have to be delivered within the supply chain. Those substances are listed in the candidate list of the ECHA which is updated every six months. The current version of the candidate list is available on the ECHA's website.

To the best of our knowledge and based on our suppliers' information there are some of our offered products which contain SVHC substances on the candidate list in a concentration above 0,1 % mass percent. If our knowledge changes, we will provide further information about affected STEINEL products on our website as soon as possible.
